Bitcoin Market Cap Exceeds South Korean Won

Bitcoin’s market cap has recently exceeded $ 1 trillion again. The asset has now surpassed the total market capitalization in South Korea won.

Bitcoin Market Cap

According to AssetDash, the market capitalization of bitcoins is $ 1.040 trillion at the time of publication. This exceeds the money supply of South Korean won, which was estimated at 1,178,748.6 billion won as of December 2020 and is currently estimated at about $ 1.04 trillion.

When did the total market cap of bitcoin exceed one trillion?

Bitcoin’s market cap exceeded $ 1 trillion for the first time in February after announcing that Tesla had invested $ 1.5 billion in BTC. The introduction of cryptocurrency by a large company such as an electric car manufacturer on February 20 quickly spiked the asset’s price to an all-time high of over $ 57,000.

Bitcoin price remains on track to a new all-time high after recovering $ 57,000 this week, and its market capitalization may soon exceed the market capitalization of Google’s parent company, Alphabet. Bitcoin’s market cap this year has already surpassed the caps of two big companies – Tesla and Chinese tech giant Tencent – and is approaching Alphabet’s $ 1.4 trillion marks.

Apple maintains a $ 1 trillion gap between bitcoin’s market cap and its own. Interestingly, it took Apple over 40 years to break the $ 1 trillion mark. Since the day the first Bitcoin transaction was carried out, it took the crypto asset only 12 years to reach a market cap of $ 1 trillion. In comparison, Google’s journey to $ 1 trillion took 22 years.
